What Book & Print Prep does
The tool has three modes, one for each file a publisher needs:

Choose your paper — white, cream, standard color or premium color — and the tool checks the KDP page limits for it. It warns you when a book is under 24 pages, the KDP minimum for a paperback.
Interior pages done right
The interior is where most KDP rejections happen. Book & Print Prep sets the exact page size with bleed and shows safe-margin and gutter guides. The gutter (the inside margin near the binding) grows with your page count, just as KDP asks, so text never disappears into the spine.

Typeset a novel, non-fiction book or poetry
Import your manuscript from Word, PDF or a .txt file and Book & Print Prep lays it out like a real book:
- Book fonts: EB Garamond, Libre Baskerville, Crimson Pro, Lora, Merriweather and Georgia, plus Amiri and Noto Naskh for Arabic.
- Justified or ragged text.
- Chapters that start on a right-hand page.

The spine is the hardest part of a paperback cover, because its width depends on your page count and your paper. Book & Print Prep calculates it for you.
- Back, spine and front are each edited on their own.
- Left-to-right books (English, French) or right-to-left books (Arabic).
- Separate front and back pictures, or one picture across the whole cover.
- Spine fill: a color taken from the front cover, a color you choose, its own picture, or no fill.
- Text blocks for title, subtitle, author and back-cover paragraph — on the front, back or spine, horizontal or vertical, with bold, italic, alignment, shadow and outline.
